The source of Textile|Textile fibre
The source of textile is textile raw materials. So, first we have to know what textile raw materials are.
The textile raw materials are the materials that are used to produce textile in Industries. These raw materials are considered as the textile fibres, yarns, fabrics etc. Textile raw materials are essential to acquire knowledge about the processing and production, to know the physical and chemical properties , uses, chemical reaction etc. of the materials. Fibres are used to manufacture yarn and fabrics need yarns to manufacture. Therefore, in case of yarn the raw materials is fibre. Without fibre textile is not possible. Hence, we can say that textile fibre is the source of textile or fabric. So, what is fibre?
Fibre is a thin threadlike or hairlike piece which is found from the outer part of plants and its length is thousand times more than its width.
All fibres cannot said to be a textile fibre. Hair is one kind of fibre, but it has no properties of textile fibre. So, hair is not a textile fibre, only fibre.
A fibre is considered to be a textile fibre which have some specific properties & can be made into a fabric and of course length will be 1000 times higher than its diameter. Properties are mainly physical and chemical properties. Fibre length, fibre strength, elasticity, crimp, resiliency, dye affinity etc. are the physical properties and reaction or power with acid, basic, reagent; light, electricity, resistance to biological agents etc are the chemical properties.
